Community Routes
This is a podcast filled with therapists, psychologists, authors, and regular people where we talk about mental and emotional health. We take complex topics and break them down, often over snacks and coffee. Our goal is to provide free, digestible mental health discussions to help build a more healthy, supportive community. Join Samuel, Sarah, and Julie every other week on Tuesdays (or whenever you feel like listening)! Our segments: “Off the Beaten Path” is a special episode that features interviews with the community. ”Unpack That” involves discussing books and concepts about mental health. ”Trail Mix” takes a variety of concepts that are asked to the cohosts and discussed as a group. ”Deep Breath” is a shorter, brief mental message for the week.

Episode 34: Long Term Resiliency
Tuesday Apr 21, 2020
Tuesday Apr 21, 2020
Part 2 of our COVID-19 discussion as we check in about what has been the hardest part for us personally, what has been helpful, and what we are learning through the quarantine. We process the exhaustion and stress, how to care for ourselves in the midst of it all and find post-traumatic growth through resiliency in the long haul. Our gratitude and relational connections help keep us strong in knowing that we are not alone. Join us for words of wisdom from Bruce Perry, Maya Angelou, Stephen Porges, and the Polyvagal Theory as we learn how to navigate through trauma.
Questions to ask: What has been the hardest part? The most helpful? What are you learning?

Episode 32: Coronavirus and Quarantine
Tuesday Apr 07, 2020
Tuesday Apr 07, 2020
Hey all,
We are so excited to be back! We fired up the ol' laptops and recorded from home. This week is a lot to process, so don't hesitate to take a break during the episode to take a deep breath, drink a glass of water, or to take a walk outside. I hope in this time of uncertainty that our episode is helpful in describing some of the emotions we go through during crises like this.
Love from me and the whole crew

The Community Routes Guide to Emotional Crises (Reair: Episodes 1-3)
Tuesday Mar 24, 2020
Tuesday Mar 24, 2020
Hey neighbors!
We are sending our love to the CR community and the world, as we all are impacted by the coronavirus. We will be on the air again in April.
In the meantime, I would encourage you to listen to the original three episodes of Community Routes. They're our older episodes, so they still have the radio interruptions, but I thought this series was relevant to what we are all going through. We made these episodes to help combat an emotional crisis.
